Description
Guitar legend – Jimi Hendrix.
Trying to capture the likeness and the energy of Hendrix was a challenge as I had set myself a limited time frame (two days) to achieve this. I didn’t want my process to be overworked and the style to be compromised by searching for a soulless, but one hundred percent accurate, portrait.
Also, I wasn’t looking to show the flamboyant stage persona of Hendrix, instead, to show something of his off-stage personality. A shy, quietly spoken, introverted man.
I sculpted Jimi using wet clay on a board.
The displayed sculpture is cast in bronze resin.
