Description
‘Slimer’ from the film, Ghostbusters – 1984
The original design by, Steve Johnson, was based, in part, on the actor/comedian, ‘John Belushi’, who was meant to star in the film before his untimely death.
As a fan of Ghostbusters as a kid, I was drawn to this disgusting yet lovable character and always wanted to create my own interpretation; the sagging folds of warty blubber a satisfying thing to sculpt.
I used wet clay to produce the body, and oil based clay for the finer elements; the hands and forearms, that would be prone to drying out quickly if sculpted in wet clay.
This figure is mounted on a black oak plinth and can be cast in bronze, verdigris resin, or painted to represent the finished puppet used in the film.
Slimer is available as a Limited edition of 12.
