The original orientation of this piece was a full head and shoulders, classic bust style. I sculpted it using a firm oil based clay which affords me, as a sculptor, to become very intricate with the details such as skin texture.

Ultimately I removed the back of his head and made this into a wall hanging bust that finished mid-chest; his tattered shirt emulating the splintered wooden door he is bursting through, and the rot that pulses through the very walls of the Overlook Hotel.

The idea of dressing a partial fragmented door panel in front of his face had always appealed to me. I wanted to create a three dimensional still frame from the movie, blended with my own artistic interpretation.

The door panel is available in a variety of different finishes to be purchased as a separate piece. 

This sculpture is available as a limited edition of 6.

In three different metal resin finishes: Bronze, Rusted Iron and Pewter.
